Film Spotlights Transgender Community in Tonga

There's much ado about the Oscars and must see movies, but just around the corner are the GLAAD Awards. This year, two Hawaii filmmakers will be attending the Gala event in New York to see their film vie for recognition. The awards acknowledge projects which advance acceptance of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Transgender community. Their film, "Leitis in Waiting," takes place in Tonga and spotlights the status of transgendered individuals in Tonga against a rising religious tide.
